Your nephew cracks his head open and you plead with your brother to let you go to watch them take care of it, only to be slightly disappointed that all they have to do is glue it shut (Good for him...but I wanted to see some stitches!). :-)

Girls Rule, Boys Drool

Yesterday, I walked into a patient's room and one of the first things he asked me was, "How do men feel about you being in medicine?" Trying to be polite, I said, "There are lots of women in medicine." That's all. I wish I would have thought of something really quick and witty, but it just didn't come. What a punk! How do you think women have felt about having men as their doctors for so many years? Huh? That's all I have to say. :-)

Me, a Family Doc?

All right, so I am a little surprised at how much I am loving my family practice rotation. I love the interactions, I love how you get to see so many different things. I LIKE IT A LOT. We'll see how my other rotations go, but it is definitely in the back of my mind. I never expected to like it so much. We'll see!
